Time & Talent
Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.
Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities, by rewarding each of them with a free Disney theme park ticket. WFCO volunteers will be eligible to receive these tickets. More information about the rules.
There are many opportunities for volunteers to contribute their time and talents at the Women's Foundation. It is important to note that we are not a direct service agency, so there are usually no opportunities to work directly with women in need.
Volunteer Opportunities at The WFCO Denver offices
Most of our volunteer opportunities center around our annual Denver Luncheon in November, with opportunities to get involved starting in September and October. We also frequently have smaller events with occasional needs for volunteers from February through June, on a case-by-case basis. We frequently need volunteer support with administrative tasks in the office. Committee membership is by invitation only, but we encourage you to become involved with The WFCO in other capacities to learn if committee membership is right for you. If you are interested in helping us, please fill out this Volunteer Form and return it to Kelly Fox.
Special Projects
Annual Denver Luncheon
The Annual Denver Luncheon is the Foundation's largest single fundraising event each year. The work begins each year in the spring, as we begin lining up sponsorships and selling tables and tickets. All the efforts culminate with the luncheon in November. But the time in between is filled with a long list of tasks, which include dozens of different volunteers opportunities.
Educational Forums
The Women's Foundation is committed to educating our communities and decision makers about the myriad issues affecting women's efforts to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Toward that end, we offer educational forums all year long in Denver and around the state. These events provide volunteer opportunities in everything from event planning to presenting the educational program.
Regional Steering Committees
The WFCO is working to build 10 statewide Regional Steering Committees. Each committee will design an annual action plan that may include WFCO informational presentations, fundraising events, small luncheons and other community-minded opportunities that will involve more women and girls in the WFCO mission. Currently, regional committees are active in Vail, Aspen, Grand Junction, Colorado Springs and Pueblo, and forming in Boulder and Durango. For more information about the Regional Steering Committee work throughout the state and how you can get involved, please contact Kelly Fox.
