Share Your Story
At The Women’s Foundation of Colorado (WFCO) we believe the stories of the people we serve should be central to the work we do. It’s critical that the stories of diverse Coloradans remain front and center as we strive to create a state where all women thrive. We invite you to share your story.
Every person has a story. A significant life event. A time when a policy or lack of policy impacted your family. Everyday stories of just trying to make a living. And every story has value. Sharing your story about the need for affordable child care, access to housing, paid family and medical leave or pay equity, will allow WFCO to share those stories with stakeholders as we seek to build a more equitable state.
Here are some things to think about:
- Has there ever been a time where it was difficult for you to find or afford childcare? What did you do? How would it have helped you to find child care?
- Have you ever received a different wage from an employer based on your gender?
- Have you ever needed time off from work to care for a loved one, newborn or heal from a medical issue? Did your employer grant that time off? Was it paid or unpaid? How would it have helped you to have paid leave?
- Have you ever had a hard time finding affordable housing? What community do you live in and what options are available? How has it impacted you to not have access to affordable housing?
- Have you benefitted from a job training program? If so, how? Or have you ever felt the need to be retrained for an in-demand career field in your community?
